I'm comfortable working across any discipline in the humanities and social sciences, and within interdisciplinary projects that cross elsewhere. My PhD was in History, my last academic employment was in Global Sustainable Development, in between I worked in Digital Humanities. Since offering research consultancy, I've also worked on academic projects at postgraduate or publishable level in: Education, Biology, Politics, Sociology, and English.

From assisting with drafting to writing from scratch, I cater to various stages of the research process. This includes developing comprehensive literature reviews, synthesizing existing notes and drafts, and occasionally conducting primary research.

Personalized Research Briefings

For clients who need up-to-date, in-depth knowledge in their field, I provide tailored research briefings either as one off or regular briefings. By tailored I don't just mean to the field you are interested in, I mean to you and your life; we'll chat first and I'll infer what you need, as well as ask explicitly. Typically, this will involve a text briefing and a discussion follow-up (either over Zoom or video-messages) to help you integrate the information meaningfully into your work or life.

Support for Postgraduate Students

Ordinarily, I'll provide support at one of three levels, depending on what you are looking for. The support is tailored to the academic standards you are aiming to meet, and often includes advice on how to manage your supervisors.

• Developmental Editing: Expect transformative structural suggestions, detailed discussions on specific points, and minor edits with tracked changes. This service ensures your text precisely conveys your intended message to your examiners.
• Writing Coach/Tutor: Through developmental feedback and discussion, I provide the detailed and incremental support which I hear is missing in some institutional settings.
• Editing and Proofreading: For a more streamlined service, I occasionally accept one-off editing and proofreading work, through which I ensure well-constructed arguments and adherence to your specified style guide. This includes making minor changes and providing suggestions for improvement.
